Changes to submitting measurements to Edd
August 29, 2009
I have made some changes to how submitting measurements works in my spoke length calculator, Edd. Up until now submission was anonymous, which had the obvious drawbacks of verification and me being unable to ask for clarification if a submission was unclear.
From now on you will have to supply an email address if you want to submit measurements for a hub or rim, but please be assured that this data will be for my eyes only. I won’t spam you or won’t give your email address to anyone.
thanks for this calculator, easy to use
Hello
thanks for the calculator by far the easiest to use of the many i have looked at, Peter
I have submitted measurements for a Shimano Deore XT FH-M732 hub. I am hoping now to clarify certain aspects of that submission. The center line to flange measurements are variable depending upon on the presence, thickness, and location of spacing washers on the axle. The measurements I submitted were for a hub with a 2 mm spacer on the right side and a over lock nut dimension of 130 mm. The hub was also available configured with spacers on the left side to provide over lock nut dimensions of 135 mm and 140 mm. This would of course alter the hub center to flange measurements.
Thank you for providing such a wonderful resource.
This calculator is a really nice an simple to use tool, and the measurements explanation is very good too.
Congratulations, and happy riding, your country’s infrastructure is wonderful for it,
David
